The decals are printed. The masks are ready. The Me 262 A-1a sprues are in the final stage of production — we’re entering the last stretch before packing and the start of shipping.

Decals – printed by Cartograf

The decals were printed by Cartograf. In practical terms, that means an extremely thin carrier film that virtually disappears under clear coat, perfect colour registration, and strong, clean colour saturation. The edges remain sharp even on the smallest stencil markings.

With late-war Luftwaffe markings this really matters — contrasts are strong, surfaces are often light, and any lack of precision would immediately stand out.

The set includes three marking options:

  • two German aircraft,
  • one Czech (post-war).

Details that make the difference

  • Stencil markings match the language of the aircraft — German on Luftwaffe machines, Czech on the post-war example.
  • On “Muttke’s” aircraft we preserved the distorted cross on the starboard fuselage side. The aircraft received an access panel from another machine, and the marking was visibly offset. That’s how it looked — so that’s how it appears on the model.
  • The sheet also includes seat belts with silver buckles. A small detail, but it noticeably improves the cockpit appearance.

It’s also worth mentioning that the German insignia are split in accordance with current regulations, so the decal sheet does not violate German law. The modeller can assemble the full marking on the model, but the sheet itself does not present the symbol as a complete form.

Masks – die-cut, not plotter-cut

The masks were also produced by Cartograf. They are not plotter-cut but die-cut.

With plotter cutting, the blade gradually wears down and can drag the edge of the material — slightly lifting or subtly deforming the outline. On thin sections or tight curves this can become visible.

In die-cut technology, the shape is cut with a single precision-made tool. The result is a clean, sharp edge and full consistency across every set. On the Me 262 canopy — with its combination of curves and sharp transitions — that precision simply makes the job easier.

Gun port covers

The mask set also includes covers for the gun port openings.

They can be used:

  • on the Czech version — without armament,
  • on German bomber (Jabo) sub-variants, where part of the armament was removed to reduce weight and adapt the aircraft for bomb carriage.
