Artur Rzepka has built another one kit from Arma Hobby. Yak-1b “Soviet Aces” was upgraded with photoetched parts form Expert Set. How do you like it?
Talking about the model, it is a mix of the Expert Set (badges) and the new one, with the aces of the Soviet air force. The model is so attractive in itself that when it comes to my own creativity, I limited myself only to drilling the barrels and exhaust pipes – as well as replacing the pitot tube with a hypodermic needle to keep the miniature “light” in reception. Paintwork was made with AK Real Color paints, in the case of red, Hataka was the choice. A very appreciated accent is the nice similarity to the red nose color (selected by the manufacturer) with the stars from the decal sheet.
