The Airacobra from Arma Hobby on a 1/48 scale is just around the corner. Delivery will start in following days. Today, we’ll check out what’s inside the box and look at the photos of the plastic parts.
Box Contents
The model comes in a large Arma Hobby box adorned with artwork by Piotr Forkasiewicz. The box opens from the side, and its contents lays in a sturdy cardboard drawer, which is convenient for storing model parts during assembly.
Sprues
The model comprises four sprues: three in grey plastic and one clear sprue, packed separately. The entire set is secured in a plastic bag. Note the delicate sprue gates make cutting out the model easier.
Decals
The decal sheet, printed by Cartograf, includes a full set of stencils and markings for three aircraft:
- P-39Q-1 Airacobra, 46th Fighter Squadron, 15th Fighter Group, Makin, Gilbert Islands, late 1943
- P-39Q-10 Airacobra, 363rd Fighter Squadron, 357th Fighter Group, pilot Lt. Clarence “BUD” Anderson, Oroville, California, October 1943
- P-39Q-15 Airacobra, 68 GIAP, 5 GIAD, winter 1944-45
Painting Masks
Masks for the canopy and wheels make painting the model easier, which will certainly speed up and facilitate its completion.
Errata and 3D Add-ons
The model includes an errata and a 3D print with double the number of air outlets, which were incorrectly represented in the model and rotated 180°. After cutting off the erroneous part, you just need to attach them correctly.
Additionally, for each buyer, we offer a free 3D file with cockpit details, which includes:
- Two types of seats with belts
- Machine gun locks
- Trim wheel
- Oil shutter control
You will receive the file by email after registering using the code provided in the errata.
Nose Weight
The model is completed with three nose-weight balls, ensuring the Airacobra stands securely on its own wheels.

Top rate model and engeneering! Bravo.
Looks nice!………..but it’s 2024! All the control surfaces should be molded separately.
Think of it! It’s like having a car model with 4 circles molded to the body as tires!
