Libor Jekl sent us his next excellent model, this time famous Sam Folsom’s Wildcat “29” from the boxart of the double “Cactus Air Force” kit.

This is my Wildcat model I built from the “Cactus Air Force” boxing. I’m sorry I did not come with it sooner, but I built it for new Valiant Wings book so I had to wait until it is released.
The book was eventually published a couple of weeks ago, so I would like to share information about it with Armahobbynews Blog readers. For those interested in comprehensive F4F Wildcat references may have a look here:
As can be seen this kit was not built straight out of the box, but I decided to use CMK resin set of the open wing gun bays – easy to install, but looking very effective. Also, I replaced the canopy with etched framing from Airone Hobby. Otherwise, the construction was really enjoyable without any traps, and I can promise I will be building more of them soon.
