The new Arma Hobby P-51K Mustang 1/72 (#70071) kit represents the variant produced at the North American Aviation plant in Dallas. It’s a lesser-known but very interesting version of the famous Mustang – the fighter that secured Allied air superiority in the final phase of World War II.
The P-51K was equivalent to the D version, differing mainly by the use of an Aeroproducts propeller and the distinctive “Dallas Hood” canopy. These aircraft served with both the USAAF and the RAF, fighting on two fronts – in Europe and in the Pacific.
The painting schemes in the set include three different aircraft that best illustrate the Mustang’s versatility and its service with different users – American pilots in Europe and the Pacific, and a British pilot in the RAF.
