The new Hurricane Mk I in 1/48 scale from Arma Hobby is approaching its release! The work on the model is in its final stage – we are just finishing its assembly and painting instruction. You can already take a look at the nearly finished version, full of detailed drawings, details and hints that will help you build this exceptional kit.
Four Hurricanes – three stories
The box includes four marking options, based on historically documented RAF aircraft from 1940 – from the Battle of Britain and the period immediately after it – and one from a later period, two years later.
- DT-A (V6864) from No. 257 Squadron RAF – December 1940. Aircraft of the squadron leader, Sqn Ldr Robert Stanford-Tuck, one of the best-known RAF aces.
- RF-R (R4175) from No. 303 Squadron Polish Air Force – September 1940. Aircraft flown by Sgt Josef František, an ace of the Battle of Britain serving in the famous No. 303 Squadron.
- W8-E (P3090) from 760 Training Squadron, Fleet Air Arm (FAA) – a very interesting late-1942 scheme, with our original reconstruction of the camouflage repaint mosaic. Based on analysis of historical photos, it leaves room for the modeller’s own interpretation.
- DT-A (V6864) – the same aircraft as the first one on the list, recreated in its appearance from October 1940, before the changes in markings from 27 November. It differs in subtle painting and marking details.
You can read more about these aircraft on the Arma Hobby blog – see the overview article describing all four:
Trzy Hurricane’y z premierowego pudełka 1/48… a malowania są cztery!
The instruction is almost ready for print, and the premiere box 40015 will enter pre-order on October 31! Model shipping is planned before the end of November.
