I would like to present quite recently finished model of Wildcat Mk.VI fighter wearing markings of No.886 Squadron Fleet Air Arm from HMS Searcher. The aircraft SoX took part in the last clash between FAA and Luftwaffe in March 1945, and its pilot shot down ½ Messerschmitt 109.

The kit is very nice, although one must be very careful while assembling the chassis.

The build was almost out of the box. The only exception was seatbelts which are Eduard coloured photoetched.  Apart from this, I removed a small aerial mast from the rudder as by 1945 Fleet Air Arm had changed the R/T equipment, which didn’t need an aerial wire between the main aerial mast and the rudder.

I painted Wildcat with Bilmodel paints (upper surfaces), Mr Hobby C lower surfaces), H and N series.

I also used washes made by Tamiya and Modeller’s World.

I’m sure it’s not going to be the last Wildcat in my collection, as Arma Hobby offer a lot of interesting painting options.
