Decals and masks have just arrived at Arma Hobby for two new kits planned for April 2026: 70087 Ki-43 Hayabusa<\/strong> and 70088 Yak-1b<\/strong>. This is one of those stages we especially enjoy \u2014 the moment when a project stops being just files and production plans, and starts becoming a real model in a box.<\/p>\n

The April releases are taking real shape<\/h2>\n

In the photos below, you can see the freshly delivered decal and mask sheets for two kits we are preparing for April. They may be small components, but for anyone familiar with the model kit development process, they are a very clear sign: these projects are entering the final stretch.<\/p>\n

The decals were printed by Cartograf<\/strong>, and they arrived together with matching canopy and wheel masks. These are exactly the kind of extras that make a real difference in how enjoyable and straightforward the finished kit is to build.<\/p>\n

70087 Ki-43 Hayabusa<\/h2>\n

In the case of the Ki-43 Hayabusa<\/strong>, you can already see the distinctive Japanese national markings, yellow identification stripes, fine stencil data, and the mask sheet for the canopy and wheels. This is one of those kits where well-designed masks really pay off during painting.<\/p>\n

70088 Yak-1b<\/h2>\n

The Yak-1b<\/strong>, in turn, brings a classic and very striking set of Soviet markings: red stars, tactical numbers, fine stencil data, and a separate set of masks. The sheet also includes delicate decorative inscriptions, which are always one of the most satisfying details when judging print quality up close.<\/p>\n

Small sheets, big step<\/h2>\n

From the outside, they are just two thin decal sheets and two sheets of masks \u2014 but for us, this is an important milestone in the whole process. It is the point where these April releases really start landing on the workbench and moving much closer to launch.<\/p>\n

There are still a few final steps ahead, but this is always one of the most satisfying moments \u2014 because from here on, the release is no longer abstract. It is getting very close.<\/p>\n
